Just got a single pair of keyboard and mouse? No worries! You can use a single pair with Multiple devices simultaneously and free of cost using today’s top famous software.
1. Microsoft Garage Mouse Without Borders
Microsoft Garage Mouse Without Borders is an official product from Microsoft which allows users to share the same Mouse and keyboard with Multiple Windows-only operating systems with a maximum limit of 4 computers. It’s very easy to set up and you can also share files or copy text across the systems as well.
All you need to do is install the software of your computer with which the accessories are attached. It will ask you if you have installed the software on the other computer, click on “No” and you’ll be given a key. Take the key, install it on your other computer, add the key, and you are done! Connected!
Synergy is a popular software for using a single mouse and keyboard across multiple computers. But it’s not free and requires you to buy a license costing around $30. However, it’s a bit hard to run and needs to follow the guidelines for proper configuration.
This project used to be open source and was named Barrier, however, they upgraded but the processes are similar to Barrier. Setting Synergy is quite the same as Mouse without Border, you’ll be provided a key that you need to add to your other computer and you’ll be good to go.
We recommend going for Barrier at first, if you are satisfied or love their production, then, you should move on the Synergy.
Sharemouse is known for being the competitor and alternative of Synergy. it also features more options than Synergy which is a positive thing given that it costs $30 for the pro version same as Synergy.
It detects the other computer automatically across the network, drag-drop & sharing files options are available. Sharemouse is a fine software and worth the price tag.
4. Input Director
Input Director is for windows only users and is known as an alternative to mouse without Border. It runs smoothly and fast. However, setting it up is a bit difficult.
This is free software and features the same options as above lists software for window-only users. A fine choice, I better add.
5. Remote Software
You’ll be able to use & control the desktop easily, share files & copy-paste text in a matter of seconds. The best part is that both the software are completely free of cost. All it requires is a stable internet connection and it will work like a charm.
